Checked 31 July 2026.
HSBC TravelOne is easy to misread if every transfer partner is described as “one-to-one”. That shorthand is wrong for several programmes. The number deposited depends on the named partner, while the usefulness of that deposit depends on award availability, programme pricing, taxes, fees and expiry rules.
This is a dated account of the issuer material available on the check date, not a promise that a future transfer will use the same list or ratio. Recheck the HSBC product page, rewards terms and the receiving programme immediately before relying on a transfer or lounge visit.
The card terms at a glance
| Item | Position checked on 31 July 2026 | Timing, cap or uncertainty |
|---|---|---|
| Annual fee | ₹4,999, before applicable taxes | Fee-waiver wording should conservatively be read as requiring more than ₹8 lakh annual spend, not exactly ₹8 lakh |
| Base earn | 2 TravelOne Reward Points (RP) per ₹100 | Applies to eligible base transactions; exclusions remain relevant |
| Accelerated earn | 4 RP per ₹100 on flights, travel aggregators and eligible foreign-currency spend | Accelerated earning is capped at 50,000 RP per month |
| Milestone | 10,000 bonus RP around ₹12 lakh annual spend | Issuer wording conflict: the precise threshold/condition is not stated consistently enough to overstate here |
| Lounge allowance | 6 domestic and 4 international visits per year | No verified spend gate; guest and add-on quota details are unavailable |
| Welcome offer | ₹1,000 cashback, ₹3,000 Postcard voucher and three months of EazyDiner Prime | Offer window 1 July–31 December 2026; app login and ₹25,000 spend within 30 days are required |
The fee waiver should be read conservatively: exactly ₹8,00,000 should not be assumed to qualify where the operative wording is “above” or “more than” ₹8 lakh.
Transfer-ratio map: the exceptions matter
| Receiving programme or group | TravelOne RP | Partner currency | Result from 10,000 RP |
|---|---|---|---|
| AirAsia rewards | 1 | 3 points | 30,000 points |
| Most partners listed by HSBC | 1 | 1 point/mile | 10,000 points/miles |
| Hainan Fortune Wings | 2 | 1 mile | 5,000 miles |
| Turkish Miles&Smiles | 2 | 1 mile | 5,000 miles |
| United MileagePlus | 2 | 1 mile | 5,000 miles |
| Shangri-La Circle | 5 | 1 point | 2,000 points |
“Most partners” is not a permanent roster; check the live transfer screen. Ratio is not cash value. As an explicit illustration, if 30,000 AirAsia points replace ₹3,000 after charges, while 10,000 one-to-one points replace ₹6,000, the outcomes differ despite AirAsia’s larger balance.
Use our reward-redemption value guide: (cash price avoided − extra taxes, fees and price difference) ÷ TravelOne RP transferred. Compare that result with the points-versus-cashback framework, using a price you would genuinely pay.
What the earn rates produce
These illustrations assume eligible spend, exact ₹100 units, no returns and correct category coding.
| Monthly spend assumption | Calculation | RP before bonuses |
|---|---|---|
| ₹50,000 at base rate | 500 × 2 | 1,000 |
| ₹50,000 accelerated | 500 × 4 | 2,000 |
| ₹30,000 base + ₹70,000 accelerated | 300 × 2 + 700 × 4 | 3,400 |
| ₹12,50,000 accelerated | 12,500 × 4 | 50,000 |
The final row illustrates the 50,000-RP monthly accelerated cap, not a target, and assumes the full four-point output counts toward it. Posting, exclusions and HSBC’s cap mechanics control the result; see why a rewards cap is only a ceiling.
At ₹8 lakh entirely at base rate, the simplified output is 16,000 RP. That does not establish a waiver because the conservative reading requires over ₹8 lakh. Materials also refer to 10,000 milestone RP around ₹12 lakh, but conflicting issuer wording leaves the precise trigger unresolved; confirm it before planning spend.
Welcome offer: sequence and dates
From 1 July through 31 December 2026, app login plus ₹25,000 spend within 30 days yields the stated ₹1,000 cashback, ₹3,000 Postcard voucher and three months of EazyDiner Prime. The offer window, 30-day spend period and fulfilment timing are separate. Check exclusions, posting treatment and voucher validity; face value is not cash saved if an item would not otherwise be bought.
Lounge access is separate from transfers
The checked allowance is six domestic and four international visits per year. We found no verified spend gate in the supplied current issuer material. That does not make every attempted entry unconditional: lounge participation, terminal, operating hours, card validation and annual quota still matter.
Unavailable detail: a verified rule for guest entries and a verified allocation for add-on cards were not available for this report. Do not assume a guest is complimentary or that an add-on card creates another quota. The practical checks in our lounge-access denial guide remain useful at the terminal.
Before initiating a transfer
- Open the live HSBC transfer screen and confirm both partner and ratio.
- Find the exact flight or hotel award first; transferable points do not guarantee inventory.
- Record the cash price, award points, taxes, carrier charges and any transfer fee.
- Confirm the receiving account name, minimum transfer and estimated processing time.
- Check expiry and cancellation rules after points enter the partner programme.
- Transfer only the amount required, because transfers are generally not designed to be reversed.
Transfer timing can be decisive. An award available when you start may disappear before points arrive. Neither HSBC nor a partner ratio guarantees a seat, room or fixed cash value.

Frequently asked questions
Are all HSBC TravelOne transfers one-to-one?
No. AirAsia is 1 TravelOne RP to 3 partner points; Hainan, Turkish and United require 2 RP for 1 mile; Shangri-La requires 5 RP for 1 point. Most listed partners were shown at one-to-one on the check date.
Is AirAsia automatically the most valuable partner because the ratio is three-to-one?
No. Ratio is only the number of destination points. Cash value depends on what those points can book, award pricing, availability, taxes, fees and what you would otherwise have paid.
Does exactly ₹8 lakh guarantee the annual-fee waiver?
Do not assume it does. The conservative reading of the checked wording is more than ₹8 lakh. Confirm the current anniversary period, eligible transactions and exact threshold with HSBC.
Is the 10,000-point milestone guaranteed at exactly ₹12 lakh?
The issuer wording available for this report conflicts around that milestone. Treat the precise trigger as unresolved until HSBC confirms it in the current terms or in writing.
Can a guest use one of my lounge visits?
A verified guest/add-on allocation was unavailable. Assume neither free guest entry nor a separate add-on quota without current issuer and lounge-programme confirmation.
Product terms, partner ratios and lounge lists can change after the check date. Recheck issuer terms immediately before relying on access or making a transfer. This is neutral product reporting, not tax or personal financial advice.
