HDFC Bank’s four-card business range is easier to understand as a ladder of costs, eligibility thresholds and unlock conditions—not as a simple ranking from weak to strong. BizFirst and BizGrow have the same published ₹500 annual fee and stated annual ITR threshold, but different waiver spend and reward structures. BizPower adds a larger reward programme and travel benefits at ₹2,500. BizBlack moves to ₹10,000 and a much higher ITR threshold, with conditional lounge and golf access.

Checked 31 July 2026. Terms can change, approval remains at the issuer’s discretion, and an income threshold is not an approval promise. Recheck HDFC’s current product page, MITC, application eligibility and the terms shown during application before acting.

Fees can attract applicable taxes. A waiver only avoids the annual fee after HDFC’s eligible-spend test is met. Use the fee-table guide and annual-fee waiver explainer to separate renewal, waiver, forex and redemption costs.

What changes across the tiers

BizFirst has the lowest waiver target. HDFC describes percentage CashPoints, so check the live percentage, category and cap rather than assigning one rate to all spend. No complimentary lounge access was verified in the checked official material; do not include permanent lounge value without a current issuer term.

BizGrow’s base rate changed effective 15 May 2026 from 2 CashPoints per ₹150 to 2 per ₹200. Its 10X programme unlocks at ₹10,000 and has a 1,500-CashPoint accelerated cap. On ₹20,000 of eligible post-change base spend, the calculation is ₹20,000 ÷ ₹200 × 2 = 200 CashPoints. That is points earned, not rupees.

BizPower’s base rate is 5 Reward Points per ₹200 effective 15 May 2026. Its 5X unlock requires ₹25,000 of non-tax eligible statement-cycle spend and has a 7,500-point accelerated cap. The first two income-tax and first two GST transactions per billing cycle earn, but that transaction-count condition does not prove that later tax payments qualify or that tax spend unlocks 5X. Rewards are not a tax deduction; this is not tax advice.

From July 2026, BizPower provides a quarterly ₹5,000 voucher at ₹2.5 lakh of qualifying spend, excluding petrol, income tax, GST and EMI. Two domestic lounge visits plus one MakeMyTrip zero-cancellation voucher require ₹75,000 of previous-quarter spend; six international Priority Pass visits are listed per year. The lounge gate guide explains why access should not be valued as automatic.

BizBlack earns 5 Reward Points per ₹150. Its 5X unlock is ₹50,000 and its accelerated cap is 7,500 points. Unlimited lounge access requires at least one online or in-store transaction in the previous month and starts from the fifth day. Six golf games per quarter have value only when the cardholder will use them and can satisfy booking terms.

Worked comparison: points are not rupees

Assumptions: ₹1,20,000 of ordinary eligible spend, no acceleration or rounding loss, all base points post, and illustrative values of ₹0.25 and ₹0.50 per point. Fees, taxes, caps, reversals and exclusions are omitted.

Card calculationRewards earnedAt assumed ₹0.25At assumed ₹0.50
BizGrow: ₹1,20,000 ÷ ₹200 × 21,200 CashPoints₹300₹600
BizPower: ₹1,20,000 ÷ ₹200 × 53,000 Reward Points₹750₹1,500
BizBlack: ₹1,20,000 ÷ ₹150 × 54,000 Reward Points₹1,000₹2,000

BizFirst is omitted because no single verified percentage applies to this assumed mix. The first numeric column is rewards earned; the rupee columns are scenarios, not issuer-guaranteed cash values. Compare routes with the points-versus-cashback guide.

The 50% versus 70% SmartBuy conflict

HDFC’s July 2026 MITC says up to 70% of a SmartBuy flight or hotel value may use points. Some current BizFirst, BizGrow and BizPower product sections still say 50%. These official sources conflict, so neither figure should be silently selected. “Up to 70%” is a payment-split ceiling, not a guaranteed point value. How to shortlist

Ask whether normal spend clears the annual waiver and statement-cycle acceleration gates, whether exclusions and caps remove headline earn, and whether lounge, voucher or golf benefits will actually be used. BizFirst can fit a lower-waiver use case; BizGrow, BizPower and BizBlack require progressively different gate and benefit calculations. None is universally best.

FAQ

Does meeting the ITR threshold guarantee approval?

No. “Above ₹6 lakh”, “above ₹12 lakh” or “above ₹30 lakh” is a stated eligibility threshold, not a promise of approval or a credit limit. HDFC can apply underwriting, documentation, business-type and internal policy checks. Recheck current application eligibility.

Do tax payments earn rewards on BizPower?

The verified condition is limited: the first two income-tax and first two GST transactions per billing cycle earn. Do not extend that statement to later transactions, every payment route or the 5X unlock. Confirm current exclusions and posting treatment.

Are 5X and 10X the rupee return?

No. They multiply a points earn rate under specified conditions. Rupee value depends on points earned, caps, expiry, redemption ratio, fees and availability. A 5X label is not 5% unless the complete calculation independently produces 5%.

Which card has free lounge access without a spend check?

Do not assume any of these benefits is unconditional. No verified complimentary lounge was found for BizFirst; BizPower domestic access uses a previous-quarter spend gate; BizBlack requires a previous-month transaction and starts access from the fifth. Check the live lounge terms before travel.
